This plane is huge. It can haul over 800 passenger when properly configured, and weighs 308 tons...talk about a flying cow. It is supposed to be able to travel farther than a 747, but my thought is, which is more dependable. Who cares if it'll fly farther, if it breaks down more and sooner, like most Airbus's tend to do, whats the point. I personally wouldn't want to fly on it. I have only flown 4 times (on one trip) in my life, and since 9/11, personally, thats enough for me unless I absolutely have too. The Boeing 777 and 787 are the main competitors to this beast, only in distance and technology. The 747 is still in use, but has been discontinued from Boeing, due to the 777 being able to haul as many people just as far for 1/5 less the cost, sounds like a good business decision to me. Dont get me wrong, the A380 is amazing, from the on board bars, etc it boasts and all of its features, its a cool looking plane, I just dont see it lasting. If the pilots all had to wear parachutes, have steps to an emergency exit, just in case, doesnt sound very reassuring to me. I also have to wonder, given Frances ability to be whining weiners, gotta wonder how many things did go wrong or what happened to the plane through flight, but I could be wrong, it could have been perfect. My biggest worry is, if it crashes, are we willing to lose 800+ people on a single crash? The rudder fell off the AA Flight that crashed over queens in October of 2001, yes, it just fell off. They used a material the FAA warned would wear, weaken, and crack when pushed too hard, which is what happened in that crash, killing around 200, including a few on the ground. I just hope this new plane works out better than past Airbus products, because they're already 157 ordered. Give me Boeing, or give me my stratus.

Bible Class Ok'd in Odessa, TX
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,154759,00.html

Christianity in Public Schools, I hear whining from the left in the distance, its getting closer, wait, its here already, what was i thinking. The People for the American Way and the ACLU have already criticized the school council saying its materials promote religion. I'm sorry, but I didnt see this being called, a United Methodist Bible Class, or a Roman Catholic Bible Class, its a Bible Class, worshipping God isn't a horrible thing, and I think the only reason most liberal's are against it is because they think they are God. From what I've read on this, they will be teaching about the geography of the land then, the people who existed, events that happeneds, etc. They're not going to be having a seminary class, or becoming licensed pastors from this. It's history. Yes alot of people including myself believe in it and are christians, but even if you are not, it's just history then. Quit your whining, read the book, and open your mind, its not promoting religion, it's teaching history.

Liberal's whining about College Funding in Alaska
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,154730,00.html

Alright, one more Christian related article and I'll stop for the day. Aparently, some people think the Education Department isnt allowed to fund a small christian school in Alaska that offers a 2 year degree, and has close 40 students. I thought they liberal's were "for the little guy." Well a school of 37 offering two year degrees in rural alaska sure sounds like a little guy to me. So whats the problem? Church and State? Quit that crap, show it to me in the Constitution and i'll accept it, until then, shut up and move on. Quit trying to ruin the lives of the people you are supposed to be helping.

Final Four Time Baby!

What’s that smell? Oh that’s me and about 10 million other basketball fans burning their brackets in defeat. Duke was my pick to win it all, and their hopes (and my office pool) went down the drain with a 10 point loss to MSU Friday night. But no worries mate, the final four should still give us some great match-up’s Saturday and Monday Night.

We have #1 Ranked Illinois –vs- Louisville, and we have #1 Ranked UNC –vs- Michigan State. Bruce Weber –vs- Rick, the first man to take 3 schools to the final four, Pitino &
Roy, I haven’t won a championship in 27 years, Williams –vs- Tom Izzo.

Illinois has been awesome all year, with only one loss, they look to be the team to come in and clean up St. Louis and to be carrying the net home with them. Luther Head has come on strong late and Dee Brown has been strong all year, UL can give them a run, but I see the house of card’s collapsing come Saturday.

Louisville already created one enemy in WVU this tournament for when they join the Big East next year, WVU should have won that game but decided to self implode and lose a 20 point lead, you can say it was Pitino’s coaching experience that brought the card’s back, but, I vote on incompetence and inexperience from WVU, they had a great run, but, without the tourney experience, a self implosion was just waiting ahead of them.

UNC has been a pretty popular pick to win it all in my office, except for me, who took Duke over them in the Elite 8, well, we all know that isn’t going to happen this year. UNC should have a pretty easy game over MSU, but no game is simple in the Final Four, everyone has earned the right to be there by beating the best 15 teams in their region just to get there. But hopefully Roy Williams gets to redeem himself after his loss to Syracuse when he was at Kansas.

MSU is going to have to give it their all and pretend it’s the end of the season. If they look ahead to Monday’s game, a victory Saturday is out of the question. Duke had an off night giving MSU the edge which they took advantage of and eliminated Coach K. MSU needs to rebound like madmen and if their shots fall, they have a chance, but if anyone has an off night, it will belong to UNC.

Final Four Predictions:

Illinois 84
Louisville 72

UNC 90
MSU 82

Final Game:
Illinois 86
UNC 82

March Madness, WooHoo!

On the day of the initial NCAA Tournament game, I’m going to give my predictions based upon the new bracket and not my hair brained assumptions J

But first I have two questions for you that have been bothering me. I know Bill Engvall did a thing on warning signs and how stupid people are, but, this one still amazes me…

I bought a quart of chocolate milk today and while it sat on my desk, I saw the label, it had the ingredients listed, including MILK obviously, but under the complete ingredient list, it said: Contains Milk. Is there a product out there called Chocolate Milk that doesn’t contain milk? If so please tell me what it is because I sure as heck am not going to buy it.

And second, our drive thru ATM’s here in Ohio, and I feel sure other places, at Bank One have a hearing device plug in for the visually impaired. Break out the Cameron Crazies, OH-VER-RATED chants, Cameron Crazies, Cheerleaders & Mascots! Its almost March, I can feel the excitement in the air, and almost hear Yeah, baby! The NCAA Basketball tourney is just around the corner. Hopes and Dreams will be fulfilled, and prayers for a championship will be crushed. What in this world will better crush and create ego’s more than sports. You win, you’re the BMOC, and if you lose, you going to get royally chewed out. You have to love it.

Going into this week there is only one “perfect” team left in the NCAA pool, Illinois. Bruce Weber stated last year, St. Louis is our goal. He was met with, “But coach, the Final Four is in New Orleans.” Honestly he states, yes but we won’t be ready, next year, we will. I’d say the rest of the country should have listened up, because it sure doesn’t appear that he was lying. Sure they’ve had some close calls, but who doesn’t with a 27-0 record. 27 and freaking 0. Is Bobby Knight reincarnating himself in Bruce Weber? Good Grief. A big ten team other than Michigan State and Indiana is finally showing promise. BC & Kansas looked good, and still show promise, but each have 1 or more losses (Kansas is up to 4, losing 3 straight now). Duke is even losing to teams like Virginia Tech. It’s been a wild season all over and I give credit to the Illini for keeping their record clean. BC has a great chance to get to the Final Four with their great ball handling and if they are robbed of a #1 seed, I hear a BCS-type outrage coming. Check this stat out…a great percentage of assist-to-shot ratio is 60%...BC is running at 68%. They pass with ease and a lot of times everyone on the floor touches the ball each possession, maybe the NBA should be watching these guys play, they could learn a thing or two.

It’s a few weeks from the Tournament Seeding Committee’s final decision on the field of 65, but today I’m going to try and break down some of what I think is going to come out of that meeting and the results of their seeds. All of this comes from games I’ve caught on TV as I could, previous bracket busting experiences & gut feelings, so, if you bet based on my opinions, I won’t be held responsible for your stupidity. Also, remember, I don’t do this for a living, I do it for fun, don’t email me and tell me how much I suck because your favorite team isn’t in the list.

I’m not going to put Goose through posting a bracket, but for those of you who follow basketball, you’ll know how these matchups equal out. For those who don’t, the 1 seed plays the 16 in their region, 2 plays 15, 3 plays 14, etc. Get it? Got it? Good.

#1 Seeds: Illinois (Chicago Region), Duke (Albuquerque), UNC (Syracuse) & UK (Austin)
With a loss to Texas, OSU will take a hit and drop and give Kentucky the edge to get the final coveted #1 Seed.
Illinois, BC & UNC will get their well deserved spots on the top of their regions.

#2 Seeds: OSU (Chicago), Wake (Syracuse), ‘Zona (Austin) & BC (Albuquerque)
Just a hunch but I believe Duke will make a late charge to slide up to #2 even with 4 losses already under their belts and a bunch of top teams lurking. They had a tough win last night against a determined as hell GT squad who almost pulled it out, great coaching all around.

#3 Seeds: UL (Chicago), MSU (Syracuse), Washington (Austin) & Gonzaga (Albuquerque)
Someone tell me where Gonzaga came from. About 6 years ago you didn’t hear a lot about them, then Dan Dickau is recruited and Bam! They’re a Sweet 16 team yearly. Now he’s gone and their still up there, Woof! Just due to their consistency getting into this tourney, I’m giving them the “home” court advantage.

#4 Seeds: OU (Chicago), Utah (Syracuse), ‘Bama (Austin), UConn (Albuquerque)
UConn do it! Sorry, couldn’t resist. Thank god for WV beating Pitt on Wednesday night, if I wasn’t tired I would have done a dance of joy, I hate Pitt, LETS GO STATE!.

#5 Seeds: Wisconsin (Chicago), Pitt (Austin), OU (Syracuse) & ‘Cuse (Albuquerque)
Pitt ain’t shit, that was the call this morning at work where the WVU & Ohio State fans reign, and the single PennState fan can actually agree. Due to their loss, I see them dropping to a 5 seed, and hopefully giving WVU consideration to make it into the tourney.

#6 Seeds: Kansas (Chicago), Cincinnati (Albuquerque), Texas Tech (Austin), Villanova (Syracuse)
‘Nova gets my nod as a knotch up from a 7 seed just for knocking off undeafeated Kansas. Since the ‘Nova loss Kansas has went to crap losing 4 games. Get it to together Jayhawks, or you’ll fall lower than 6.

#7 Seeds: Florida (Austin), Southern Illinois (Chicago), G-Town (Syracuse), Pacific (Albuquerque)
The “home” nod goes to Southern Illinois in my mind just for having to go to opposing schools and be called a Saluki. Break out the Cameron Crazies, OH-VER-RATED chants, Cheerleaders & Mascots! Its almost March, I can feel the excitement in the air, and can almost hear Yeah, baby! The NCAA Basketball tourney is just around the corner. Hopes and dreams will be fulfilled, and prayers for a championship will be crushed. What in this world can better create and crush ego’s more than sports. You win, you’re the BMOC, and if you lose, you are going to get royally chewed out. Also, remember, I don’t do this for a living, I do it for fun, don’t email me and tell me how much I suck because your favorite team isn’t in the list.I’m not going to put Goose through posting a bracket, but for those of you who follow basketball, you’ll know how these matchups equal out. For those who don’t, the 1 seed plays the 16 in their region, 2 plays 15, 3 plays 14, etc. Get it? Got it? Good.
#1 Seeds: Illinois (Chicago Region), BC (Albuquerque), UNC (Syracuse) & UK (Austin)With a loss to Texas, OSU will take a hit and drop and give Kentucky the edge to get the final coveted #1 Seed.Illinois, BC & UNC will get their well deserved spots on the top of their regions.
#2 Seeds: OSU (Chicago), Wake (Syracuse), ‘Zona (Austin) & Duke (Albuquerque)Just a hunch but I believe Duke will make a late charge to slide up to #2 even with 4 losses already under their belts and a bunch of top teams lurking. They had a tough win last night against a determined as hell GT squad who almost pulled it out, great coaching all around.
#3 Seeds: UL (Chicago), MSU (Syracuse), Washington (Austin) & Gonzaga (Albuquerque)Someone tell me where Gonzaga came from.
#4 Seeds: OU (Chicago), Utah (Syracuse), ‘Bama (Austin), UConn (Albuquerque)UConn do it! Sorry, couldn’t resist. Thank god for WV beating Pitt on Wednesday night, if I wasn’t tired I would have done a dance of joy, I hate Pitt, LETS GO STATE!.
#5 Seeds: Wisconsin (Chicago), Pitt (Austin), OU (Syracuse) & ‘Cuse (Albuquerque)Pitt ain’t shit, that was the call this morning at work where the WVU & Ohio State fans reign, and the single PennState fan can actually agree. Due to their loss, I see them dropping to a 5 seed, and hopefully giving WVU consideration to make it into the tourney.
#6 Seeds: Kansas (Chicago), Cincinnati (Albuquerque), Texas Tech (Austin), Villanova (Syracuse)‘Nova gets my nod as a knotch up from a 7 seed just for knocking off undeafeated Kansas. Since the ‘Nova loss Kansas has went to crap losing 4 games. Get it to together Jayhawks, or you’ll fall lower than 6.
#7 Seeds: Florida (Austin), Southern Illinois (Chicago), G-Town (Syracuse), Pacific (Albuquerque)The “home” nod goes to Southern Illinois in my mind just for having to go to opposing schools and be called a Saluki. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a dog. But, what a name…moving on
#8 Seeds: Maryland (Austin), GW (Chicago), Charlotte (Syracuse) & Depaul (Albuquerque)
#9 Seeds: LSU (Austin), Stanford (Chicago), Nevada (Albuquerque), Texas (Syracuse)
#10 Seeds: UCLA (Albuquerque), Mississippi St (Austin), Notre Dame (Syracuse), GT (Chicago)#11 Seeds: Memphis (Austin), ODU (Syracuse), St Mary’s (Chicago), Vermont (Albuquerque)#12 Seeds: Minnesota (Chicago), Wichita State (Austin), UTEP (Albuquerque) & ISU (Syracuse)#13 Seeds: VT (Chicago), Holy Cross (Austin), Wis-Milwaukee (Syracuse), UL-Lafayette (Albuquerque)#14 Seeds: St Joe’s (Syracuse), Penn (Chicago), West Virginia, Davidson (Austin)#15 Seeds: Niagara (Syracuse), Portland St (Albuquerque), Oral Roberts (Austin), SE Louisana (Chicago)
#16 Seeds: Tenn.
